The Order of Malta has supported Morocco’s ophthalmology program for over 25 years through an agreement with the Ministry of Health.
This collaboration includes a donation of equipment for the surgery of over 500 patients with advanced cataracts each year.
This year, Ambassador Julien Brunie visited the campaign organized in Tiflet in collaboration with Professor Amazouzi’s Association of Moroccan Ophthalmologists Without Borders and the Khmisset Province Health Directorate.
167 patients were ultimately operated. A great success and many memorable moments with the patients who all of a sudden can see again and often discover their own grandchildren.
