Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco – Address by the Ambassador on the occasion of the investiture of His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness the Pope.
For the first time in the history of the prestigious Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, an Ambassador was invited to speak at the Academy.
The honour on the occasion of the solemn session provided the opportunity to induct the Secretary of State of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV,
His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, as an honorary member of the Academy.
Below is the text of the address, which highlighted inter-religious dialogue and the 40 years of diplomatic relations between Morocco and the Order of Malta, at a time when the Holy See is celebrating 50 years of relations.
The session was particularly impressing.
The speech by the Perpetual Secretary, His Excellency Abdeljalil Lahjomri, was widely praised for the strength of its words and the depth of its thoughts.
In the same spirit, the Cardinal Secretary of State delivered a magisterial lecture which illustrates the fraternity and the tireless work of the Holy See for peace in the world, as well as the absolute impossibility of invoking the name of God to kill or justify a conflict.
The Academy of the Kingdom documents the session on its website: The Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco
The Embassy of the Order of Malta expresses its gratitude to the Academy of the Kingdom and to its Perpetual Secretary.
