Ambassador Brunie, accompanied by Minister-Counsellor Sophie de Puyraimond and Diego Hidalgo, Counsellor, officially handed over a specialized ambulance donated to the Children’s Hospital of the CHU Rabat as part of the Mother–Child programme, which has been supported by the Order of Malta in Morocco for several years.
The Order has previously donated more than 47 incubators distributed across the Kingdom.
This ambulance, equipped with an incubator and the most advanced necessary equipment for transporting premature babies, will help save many lives and will be managed in coordination with the Rabat SAMU team.
The solemn handover ceremony took place in the presence of Professor Raouf Mohsine, Director General of the CHU Rabat, and Professor Amina Barkat, Director of the Children’s Hospital.
The ambulance, donated by the Embassy of the Order in Morocco, was co-financed by Monaco Aide et Présence (MAP).
The Sovereign Order of Malta, faithful to its charism, acts in close proximity to the sick and the poor. The ambulance has immediately entered service and bears witness to the Order’s steadfast commitment to respond to the most pressing needs — including in rural areas — and to assist mothers and childrens in particular.
